Healthcare applications has always been a buzz at #InnoVEX and #COMPUTEX lately, companies offering a wide variety of monitoring, and the key factor always falls back to the efficiency and accuracy of the device or algorithm.
If you are a Sci-Fi fan, a Star Trek fan to be specific, then you might be familiar with a device called the tricorder. Well, it has now inspired a team at the Glasgow University and they claim that the device they have created can rapidly detect multiple biomarkers at once. This may be useful for heart-attacks, cancers and strokes, where a rapid diagnosis is vital for effective treatment. This “multicorder” created by the team can measure various small molecules (metabolites) in a patient’s body fluid by connecting to a #Android base #smartphone (we maintain open mindedly for an iOS version too in the near future).
We are stoked about cool stuff like this and looking forward to the team bringing it into production and in the market!
